What Is a Bulk Image Converter?

Bulk image conversion changes many pictures to a new file format in one run, such as a folder of HEIC photos to JPG. You choose the format once and every file follows it. A bulk resizer is different: it changes the width and height of each picture but keeps its format.

Batch Convert Images to JPG, PNG or WebP

A batch converts the same way as one file, with a few extra choices. These answers cover mixed folders, matching sizes, transparency and animation, and PDFs.

Can I Convert Different Formats in One Batch?

Yes. A batch can mix any of the 27 input formats, and every file converts to the format set under Convert to. To send one file to a different format, change the menu on its row, and the row is marked override. Files in other formats, including PDF, are refused with a message.

How Do I Convert Multiple Images to the Same Size?

Turn on Resize, and every file is resized in the same pass as the conversion:

  • Same width: keep the aspect ratio locked and enter a width, such as 1920. Every image gets that width and keeps its shape, so heights can differ.
  • Same width and height: unlock the ratio, enter both sides, and pick a fit mode. Cover fills the frame and crops the edges. Contain keeps the whole picture and adds a colored border.
  • Same format, new size: use the bulk image resizer instead.

What Happens to Transparency and Animation?

It depends on the format each file ends up in:

  • PNG, WebP, GIF and TIFF keep transparent areas.
  • JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white or a color you pick in the Transparent background panel.
  • AVIF currently comes out on a white background, with no color choice.
  • Animated GIF and WebP files stay animated when the target is GIF or WebP. Any other target keeps only the first frame, and the editor asks before it converts them.

Can I Convert Multiple Images Into One PDF?

Not with this tool. PDF isn't one of its output formats, so each image stays a separate file. To combine many images into one PDF and set the page order, use image to PDF.

How do I convert multiple images at once for free?

What formats can I batch convert between?

How do I bulk convert HEIC to JPG?

Add all your HEIC or HEIF photos at once, leave the format on JPG and press Convert All. Strip metadata is on by default, so the JPGs come out without the GPS location. Photos are turned upright before the orientation tag is removed, so none come out sideways. The whole set then downloads as one ZIP.

Can I batch convert images to WebP?

Yes. Pick WebP under Convert to, and every file in the batch becomes a WebP file. Transparent PNGs stay transparent and animated GIFs stay animated. The reverse works the same way: to turn a folder of WebP images into JPG or PNG, add them all and pick that format instead.

Does batch conversion reduce image quality?

It depends on the output format. PNG and TIFF store every pixel exactly, so nothing more is lost. JPG, WebP and AVIF drop some fine detail to save space, and the quality slider sets how much; it starts at 90. Converting a JPG to PNG can't bring back lost detail. It only makes a bigger file.

Can I convert RAW camera files in bulk?

Yes, for Canon CR3, Adobe DNG and Fujifilm RAF files. Other RAW types, such as Nikon NEF or Sony ARW, aren't accepted. Batches of more than 20 files convert one at a time to save memory, which helps with big RAW files. A file that takes longer than 120 seconds stops with a timeout message and a Retry button.

How do I download all converted images at once?

Press Download All when the batch is done. Two or more files come as one ZIP named picssizer_converted.zip. Each file keeps its original name with the new extension, and repeated names get a number, such as photo (1).jpg. Files that failed are left out, and a message tells you how many.

Is JPEG the same as JPG?

Yes. JPEG and JPG are the same format with two spellings of the extension, so any app that opens one opens the other. To change only the extension, renaming the files is enough. Converting JPEG to JPG here saves each photo again at the quality you set, which adds a little more compression.
