  2. Choose One Set of Settings

Set Quality (75 to start), GIF colors and any resizing. Add a Target file size if each GIF must fit a limit. Press Compress, and the GIFs run one after another.

What Is a Bulk GIF Compressor?

A bulk GIF compressor makes a whole set of animated GIFs smaller in one run, with the same lossy level, colors and size limit for each file. By default every file stays a GIF. A single GIF compressor suits tuning one animation by hand. The bulk version suits packs, such as emoji sets, that should come out matching.

How to Batch Compress GIFs as One Set

One set of settings covers every GIF in the batch, so a few choices decide how the whole set turns out. The answers below cover mixed content, sizing a pack, fixing one file and big batches.

Should Every GIF in a Batch Use the Same Settings?

Only if the GIFs look alike. Fewer GIF colors can work on flat art but show bands on clips cut from video. Split a mixed set into batches:

  • Stickers, icons and UI animations: try 64 or 128 GIF colors, since flat art has few shades.
  • Reaction GIFs from movies or TV: keep GIF colors at 256 and lower Quality instead.
  • Not sure: run a test batch of three GIFs and open the compare view on each before the full run.

How Do You Keep a GIF Pack the Same Size on Screen?

Use Max dimension, not Percentage. Max dimension sets one ceiling for the longest side of every GIF, such as 128 px for emoji, and GIFs already under it are left untouched. Percentage shrinks each GIF relative to its starting size, so a pack that starts mixed ends up mixed.

How Do You Fix One GIF Without Redoing the Batch?

Press Download all first, so you keep the finished set. Then change a setting, press Recompress with current settings on that GIF's row and download it from the same row. Pressing Compress after a change redoes every GIF in the list.

How Long Does a Large GIF Batch Take?

It depends on your device and the GIFs. They are compressed one after another, and long GIFs with many frames take the most time. With a Target file size, each GIF can take up to six passes. The bar above the list counts finished files, so keep the tab open until it is done.

Bulk GIF Compressor FAQ

Answers about batch settings, size limits and downloading a set of GIFs.

How do I compress multiple GIF files at once for free?

Add every GIF to the upload box above in one go, by dropping them in or browsing. In the editor, choose your Quality, GIF colors or Target file size once and press Compress. When each row finishes, press Download all. Two or more GIFs arrive as one ZIP, free and without a watermark.

Can I batch compress GIFs without losing quality?

Yes. With Quality at 100 and GIF colors left at 256, the pixels in every frame stay exactly as they were. Most GIFs still shrink a little. If one would come out bigger and no Target file size is set, you get the original back.

How much smaller will my GIFs get?

There is no fixed figure, since it depends on each GIF's colors, motion and size. Each finished row shows how much it saved, and the summary bar over the list gives the batch total before and after. For a bigger drop, make the frames smaller with Max dimension or Percentage.

How do I compress a batch of GIFs for Discord?

Enter Discord's limit in Target file size and set the unit to KB: 256 for emoji or 512 for stickers. Every GIF is held to that number separately. A size target leaves each GIF's pixel dimensions alone, so emoji also need Max dimension set to 128 px. Look over the rows when it ends: a GIF that can't get under the limit keeps the smallest result the tool reached.

Can I compress all my GIFs to 2MB each?

Yes. Type 2 in Target file size and leave the unit on MB, which this tool treats as 2,048 KB. The 2MB cap applies to each GIF separately, not to the combined batch. Every GIF gets up to six tries, first with a higher lossy level and then with fewer colors, and keeps the first try that fits.

Can I compress GIFs and other images in the same batch?

Not on this page, since its upload box takes GIF files only. For a batch that mixes JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP and GIF files, use the bulk image compressor. It opens the same editor with the same settings. To tune one animation by hand, use the GIF compressor.

What is the maximum number of GIF files I can compress at once?

The tool sets no cap on how many GIFs you add or how large they are. The real limit is your device, which compresses the GIFs one by one. Long animations with many frames use the most memory and time. On a phone or older laptop, run a large set in a few smaller batches instead.
